Legal & Programme Terms

Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your enrolment in Damai's educational programmes. They are written to be read, not scanned — we encourage you to take the time to read through them before registering.

1. About Damai

Damai is a financial education provider registered in Singapore. Our programmes are educational in nature and are designed to help adults understand personal finance concepts clearly and at their own pace. Damai is not a licensed financial adviser, fund manager, or insurance intermediary. Nothing we teach constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation of any financial product.

2. Scope of These Terms

These terms apply to all persons who register for, attend, or participate in any Damai programme, workshop, or private session. By completing a registration form or paying a programme fee, you agree to these terms in full. If you are registering on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have authority to agree to these terms on their behalf.

3. Educational Nature of Our Programmes

All Damai programmes — including The Household Ledger Workshop, The Considered Saver and Investor, and The Long Conversation Track — are educational programmes only. They are designed to increase your understanding of financial concepts and household financial management.

Damai's facilitators and staff do not:

Any decisions you make about your personal finances, savings, investments, or estate planning remain entirely your own responsibility. We encourage you to consult a licensed financial adviser for personalised recommendations.

4. Programme Fees and Payment

4.1 Fees

Programme fees are as follows at the time of publication:

Fees are quoted in Singapore dollars and are inclusive of any materials provided during the programme. Fees do not include goods and services tax (GST) unless otherwise stated at the time of registration. Damai reserves the right to adjust fees for future cohorts with reasonable advance notice.

4.2 Payment

Full payment is due upon registration unless a payment arrangement has been agreed in writing with Damai. Your place in a programme is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment. Damai accepts payment by bank transfer and selected electronic payment methods as communicated at registration.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1 Cancellation by You

If you need to withdraw from a programme, please let us know in writing as early as possible.

In some circumstances we may be able to transfer your registration to a future cohort. Please write to us and we will consider each request individually.

5.2 Cancellation by Damai

If Damai cancels a programme before it commences, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid. Damai will not be liable for any other costs you may have incurred in preparation for attending. If Damai is required to reschedule a programme, we will notify you as early as practicable and offer you the choice to transfer to the rescheduled dates or to receive a full refund.

5.3 Individual Sessions (Long Conversation Track)

For private sessions under The Long Conversation Track, individual sessions may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice at no charge. Sessions cancelled with fewer than 48 hours' notice may be forfeited at Damai's discretion.

6. Programme Materials

Materials provided as part of a Damai programme — including workbooks, handouts, session summaries, and the bound ledger book provided with The Household Ledger Workshop — are for your personal educational use. They may not be reproduced, shared, resold, or distributed without Damai's written permission.

All course materials, curriculum content, and written summaries remain the intellectual property of Damai. Attendance at a programme does not transfer any ownership of or licence to this intellectual property beyond your personal educational use.

7. Conduct During Programmes

Damai's group programmes bring together adults of different backgrounds and at different stages of their financial lives. We ask all participants to engage with one another with courtesy and discretion. Personal financial details shared by participants during sessions are shared in confidence and should remain within the group.

Damai reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a programme, without refund, if their conduct is disrespectful, disruptive, or harmful to other participants or to Damai staff.

8. Recording and Photography

Audio or video recording of any Damai session — in whole or in part — is not permitted without prior written consent from Damai and, for group sessions, the agreement of all other participants. Photography that includes other participants requires their individual consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

Damai's programmes are educational. We take care in preparing and delivering our content, but we make no representation as to the suitability of that content for your particular financial circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Damai's liability to you in connection with any programme shall not exceed the programme fee you paid. Damai shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including any loss arising from financial decisions you make following or in connection with our programmes.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

10. Privacy

Damai handles your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Our full privacy policy is available at privacy-policy.html. By registering for a programme, you consent to our use of your data as described in that policy.

11. Amendments to These Terms

Damai may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your registration is the version that governs your enrolment. We will publish any material changes on this page with an updated date.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms or your participation in a Damai programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. We would, however, always prefer to resolve any concern in conversation first — please write to us at [email protected] if something has not gone as it should.
