Why Damai

What makes the difference here

No selling, no products

Damai is an educational programme. We do not sell financial products, receive commissions, or recommend specific investments. What you learn here is for your own thinking.

Small groups, real attention

Group sessions are kept small so that each participant's questions have room to breathe. You will not be sitting in a lecture hall wondering if your question matters.

Paced for busy decades

Saturday mornings for group sessions. Private sessions spread over two months. The programmes fit around the real texture of life in your forties and fifties.

Singapore-specific context

CPF, Singapore Savings Bonds, HDB, lasting powers of attorney — all content is situated in the Singapore financial and legal context, so nothing feels abstract.

Written materials you keep

The Household Ledger Workshop includes a bound ledger book. Private sessions come with written summaries. You leave each programme with something tangible on the shelf.

Respectful, plain language

We speak plainly and without jargon. We treat participants as intelligent adults who simply have not had the chance to sit with these topics at the right pace before now.

Take a moment

Is this the right time to look at the ledger?

There is no urgency to decide now. We are here when you are ready to have a calm conversation about which programme, if any, fits your household's situation this year.

Questions

Things people often ask before enrolling

Do I need to know anything about finance before I come?
No prior knowledge is assumed. The Household Ledger Workshop in particular is designed for people who are coming to these topics for the first time in a structured way. The seven-week course builds from the ground up as well. If you can read a bank statement, you have enough to begin.
Will Damai tell me what to invest in?
Damai is an educational programme, not a financial advisory service. We explain how different instruments and approaches work so that you can make your own decisions with clarity. We do not recommend specific products and we do not receive any commissions or referral fees.
How many people are in a group session?
Group sessions are kept to eight to twelve participants. This ensures that questions can be asked without embarrassment and that the facilitator has time to address each person's situation where relevant. If a group is full, we open a new intake rather than expand the existing one.
Where are sessions held?
Group sessions are held on Saturday mornings at a quiet café-meeting room near Orchard Road. Private sessions for the Long Conversation Track can be held at our Orchard Road premises or at a mutually convenient location in central Singapore.
What is the fee, and how do I pay?
The Household Ledger Workshop is SGD 260, the Considered Saver and Investor course is SGD 430, and the Long Conversation Track is SGD 750 for five sessions. Payment is by bank transfer and is due before the first session. We will confirm details when you contact us.
Is my financial information kept private?
We do not ask for account numbers, portfolio details, or any information you are not comfortable sharing. Group sessions are run in a way that allows participants to discuss their situation in general terms without revealing specific figures to others. Private sessions are, of course, completely confidential.
Can I attend a session first before committing to a full programme?
We occasionally run a single introductory session for those who would like to experience the format before deciding. Please contact us to ask whether one is coming up. Alternatively, the Household Ledger Workshop is a self-contained four-week programme and is a natural way to begin.
